What is a box beam?
A Box Beam, or Faux Beam, is a non-structural decorative beam that has been mitered and glued together on three sides. Box Beams are used on ceiling applications to give personality, character, and depth to higher and larger spaces. We see many of our competitors use the word “faux” to describe their beams – which is defined as “not genuine or fake”. We can say with confidence – there is nothing artificial or fake about our box beams! Sawmill Designs uses the highest quality materials with the highest level of craftsmanship – creating a box beam that surpasses our competition.
Thinking of our reclaimed box beam option?
When ordering any type of authentically reclaimed lumber, it is important to remember that no two boards are the same. That’s the beauty of using reclaimed barn siding—it oozes with character and depth! Some boards will be a deep brown or gray, while others will tend to be lighter, with hints of both brown and gray.
