Sawmill Designs Product Disclaimer

Thank you for choosing Sawmill Designs. To ensure the quality of materials along with superior customer service, we ask that you please review our wood disclaimer.
We all are best served by avoiding mistakes and surprises. The value of our disclaimer is truly to help avoid problems and make every job a complete success
without interruption. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask your Sawmill Designs representative. Thank you!

Lead Times. These are estimates given at the time an inquiry is made.
Target ship dates are established once Sawmill Design’s receives a full payment from the buyer, which is required to initiate each order.

Pricing. Pricing in many cases is based on availability and material fluctuations. Pricing is good for 30 days from the proposal date. Pricing on reclaimed/antique material cannot be guaranteed for any length of time due to availability and potential market fluctuation.

REVIEW YOUR NEW MATERIAL BEFORE IT IN INSTALLED. Most often those entrusted with receiving and installing product have no idea
what it’s really supposed to look like. Addressing problems after its installed is very costly and time consuming. Sawmill Design’s warrantee only covers the cost of the material and not labor to remove and re-install replacement. Let unpacked wood products acclimate in their new environment for a minimum of 3 days in their new environment.

Color. Sawmill Designs uses reasonable and commonly accepted practices to alter the color of otherwise natural wood products. Samples provided are indicative of color, millwork, texture, and type of finish only. They may not represent all of the characteristics found in an entire wood product. Reclaimed lumber materials will often have the widest variety of character traits such worm holes, nail holes, saw marks, weathered patina, and color variations. Certain coloring techniques such as fuming, bleaching and chemical dyes can be less predicable and thus produce a wider array of finished colors. Often the mineral and chemical composition of natural materials such as wood vary unpredictably, which can alter the finished color of our product. We will take precautionary measures to avoid such variances, however we cannot guarantee against variances from occurring. Equally important, rarely do two separate jobs of the exact same pre-finished look exactly alike. This can affect “exact repeats” and how exactly they may appear when compared to a previously produced product. We will take every precaution to reproduce colors as closely as possible but cannot guarantee an exact match. Make sure you advise your Sawmill representative of color consistency requirements before placing an order. There are ways to reduce such variances but never eliminate them.

For beams shipped in sections: Please note that each section is made up of individual boards that may not be cut from the same piece of material. For both reclaimed wood and white oak, unfinished and pre-finished, color variations between boards are common. We will ensure that we select material that it deemed a “good match” by our millworks department, but do not accept claims regarding inconsistent coloring, tone, grain pattern, finish, etc.

Samples. When our team sends out a sample box, please acknowledge that we strive to make our samples the best representation of the finished product. However, please expect variation that may or may not be shown within the samples due to the unique nature of the wood. Though we would like to, it is not possible to capture every variation of the finished product with a small sample piece. When reviewing samples please keep this in mind. If you have any questions or concerns about variations please contact a representative.

Moisture. Wood is a natural product that expands and contracts as the humidity or other sources of moisture within the area increases and decreases. The risk of movement is greater as board width increases. To minimize such movement the National Wood Flooring Association recommends, “Wood products will perform best when the interior environment is controlled to stay within a relative humidity range of 35 to 55% and a temperature range 50 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit.” Maintaining a consistent relative humidity and temperature is ideal as fluctuations do increase the risk of wood movement. Maintain an environment consistently near 45% and 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

Return Policy. All products provided by Sawmill Design are made to each customer’s specific requirements. As such we do not accept returns or provide refunds. If a problem is deemed the fault of Sawmill Designs, we will offer a solution to fix the problem. Sawmill Design’s responsibility is limited to the expense of the material only, and not to any labor associated with installation or full conversion of the product.
