Whats the difference between European Oak & American Oak?

While subtle, there are differences between European Oak and American Oak flooring. European Oak flooring has the tendency to be slightly darker with warmer tones than its friend from across the pond. European Oak also tends to be less pronounced grain lines than American Oak. This is because European Oak trees grow with wider sapwood and narrower heartwood, allowing for wider widths and clearer select pieces. With those subtle differences, European Oak also takes finishes slightly different than American Oak.
